Maritime License Training Company (MLT) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. The school’s mission is to provide professional training and assistance to mariners who are new to the marine workforce, or upgrading their current licenses.
Founded in 1999, the school was established because the founders, who owned a marine salvage and towing company, had difficulty finding trained, qualified workers. Frustrated with the available workforce, the founders decided to train new employees themselves. When local tug companies discovered what the founders were doing, they asked for help training their employees as well, and eventually, the school was started as its own entity.
